It’s Fab Friday (Saturday, oops), and this week I’ve rounded up my favorite kitchen gadgets that help make cooking easier for me as a Spoonie! Hopefully some of these suggestions might be helpful for others of you out there in the chronic illness/mental health community. Here are 13 Essential Chronic Illness Kitchen Gadgets!
Fab Friday is late this week again because I’ve had a bit of a tough week, but the weekend is here, and so is this cute cactus roundup post!
It’s safe to say that cacti (or cactuses, if you must) have been having a moment in fashion and home decor. And why not?! They’re cute, colorful, and visually interesting. Plus they have that whole “don’t touch me” introvert vibe that I can really get behind.
My love for the cactus has been rooted firmly for quite some time. Heck, I even had a cactus-themed baby shower last year:
Happy Fab Friday, everyone! I’ve been looking for something to replace the old wall calendar that hangs next to my bed, and yesterday I came across the most gorgeous gold pocket planters. They’re practically made for the space, and they got me feeling all excited about incorporating some more greenery into our bright, east-facing bedroom.
(Do you ever get the urge to buy more houseplants in the spring? I feel like I do every year, but then I manage to kill all except the succulents and cacti by summertime. I think I’ll start with succulents and cacti this year and let the other houseplants enjoy long and happy lives elsewhere.)
Anyway, problem-solving that corner of my room got me searching for more cute pots and planters, and before I knew it, this week’s Fab Friday roundup was born!
Fab Friday: Gorgeous Gold Planters to Help You Green Up Your Space
Hey-hey, Mother’s Day is coming up! Do you know what to get for your mom to celebrate her? Today I’ve gathered up some great Mother’s Day gift ideas that won’t break the bank. (I know what you’re thinking: Fab Friday? It’s Sunday! Sorry! I went on a surprise vacation Thursday and Friday and missed my normal Friday posting. So happy Fab Friday a few days late!)
Mother’s Day 2018 will be my first Mother’s Day with my baby outside the womb, so this is kind of my Mother’s Day wishlist, too! The perfect Mother’s Day gifts for me would be things that are both beautiful and that I will actually use, so we’ll start there. Beyond that, I decided to break these ideas down into the five senses as a framework.
Oh! Also, I wanted to make sure everything here is affordable, which for me means keeping everything under $30. So here you go—15 Mother’s Day Gifts She’ll Love That Won’t Break the Bank.
It’s Fab Friday, and Tuesday was the first day of spring! Hooray! We’re only just finally starting to get some more wintery-feeling (read: wet) weather here in Southern California, so I’m going to embrace that while it lasts, but I’ve also seen the mustard plants starting to bloom in the foothills near us, which means spring is definitely here. Do you have signs like that where you live?
I love when the seasons change, and there’s something about winter to spring especially that inspires me. It makes me want to do more, see more, be more! One thing is always the same, though: I always get the urge to make my house feel more like spring. But how exactly do you do that? How do you bring that springtime feeling inside? This week’s Fab Friday has got you covered!
I know what you’re thinking—another baby gear list? Yeah, that’s exactly what the internet needs. I know, I know, but give me a chance! My mission here at Thriver Guide is to help find ways to make life easier, more beautiful, and more joyful for those of us with chronic or mental illness, so to that end, this list of baby essentials is something I made with spoonie parents in mind.
Without further ado, here’s this week’s Fab Friday roundup:
Happy Friday! I’m thinking I want to introduce Fab Friday as a series where I can recommend something Fab to you all, something beautiful or helpful or whatever that you might enjoy.
For me, I’ve been battling sickness for the last month after my immune system was weakened from a bout of shingles, and on Tuesday night, my current sinus bug struck me hard. I’ve had vicious insomnia since starting antivirals for my shingles outbreak back in January, but come 7:00 pm on Tuesday night, I literally could not keep my eyes open.
So I thought I’d make a Sick Day Self-Care inspiration board for this first Fab Friday, since that’s where I am at. Some of these things are things I’ve found helpful this week, and others are things I wish I’d had! (Click on Continue Reading for links to each item.) Enjoy!
